Onslow County engaged Unified Supply in March 2005
to put in new outbound ticket counter belts for their
growing airport in Jacksonville, NC. Like all airport
operations, Albert J. Ellis Airport’s (OAJ)
business could not be put on hold while the installation
took place. Unified Supply carefully coordinated
the work with airport personnel so a temporary solution
could be implemented while the new ticket counter
belts were put in.
The result was another successful project and another
satisfied customer. Unified Supply replaced the existing
obsolete conveyor system with its 9000 Series ticket
counter and transport belts. The solution gave the
customer a long lasting, high capacity conveyor system
to attract new carriers and allow for growth.
Unified Supply worked with Jerry Vickers, Airport
Director for OAJ, to implement the project and ensure
that the needs of the airport were met. “We
were impressed from the very beginning of the project
when you brought in your team and briefed us on the
project and how you intended to execute the work,” Mr.
Vickers told us upon completion of the project, “I
have been managing projects here at OAJ for over
four years and can say that working with Unified
has been the smoothest, most professionally-managed
project that we've been associated with.”
After installation was complete, Unified Supply trained
the staff at OAJ on the safety, operations and maintenance
of their new system. We received compliments on this
aspect of the project as well, “Several of
our folks indicated that this was the most professionally-conducted
training they had ever attended,” Mr. Vickers
commented.
The project had concluded on-time, on-budget and
with as little disruption to the airport and its
customers as possible. OAJ and Onslow County were
left with a conveyor system that will help them compete
in the demanding airport industry, and Unified Supply
was able to put another successful project under
its belt.
